SYCAMORE —
A Turner County woman has been arrested and charged with shooting and murdering her husband in their home Friday night.
Rodney Wall, special agent in charge at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation office in Perry, said Turner County deputies responded to the couple’s home on Highway 32 East in Sycamore around 7:30 p.m. Friday. Morris Pilkington Jr., 62, was found dead at the scene. His wife, Debra, 60, was taken into custody and is currently in the Turner County Jail, Wall said. Bail has not been set. She has been charged with felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Wall said there was a domestic situation involved between family members that had been ongoing during the day which subsequently led to the shooting. Wall wouldn’t comment on where Pilkington was shot. He said Pilkington’s body will be sent to the crime lab in Macon for an autopsy.
The GBI is assisting the Turner County Sheriff’s Office with this case.
