An armed robbery was reported Friday at the Speego, located on 1939 Whiddon Mill Road in Tifton. According to the police report, a man of unknown race entered the store with a black bandana over his face. He was also appeared to be wearing blue jeans, a camolauge shirt and an orange vest. He entered the store brandishing a big knife and went straight behind the counter and said, “open the (bleep) cash register and give me the money.” The victim then said the offender attempted to open the safe, but couldn’t. The offender than gave the plastic bag and told the victim to put money into the bag. After checking to make the money was out of the register, the victim said it was believed the offender was a white male. The offender then ran off with an undisclosed amount of money to the right of the store. A search produced negative results. A look at the video showed the offender was actually wearing khaki pants, white tennis shoed, a black long sleeve hoodie shirt with an orange vest over it. He was also seen wearing a brown hat, black bandana and sunglasses to disguise his appearance. The crime scene was eventually turned over to detectives.
