Former Tift County sheriff Edd Walker, who served from 1973 until 1996, died this morning at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Manhunt called off Thursday afternoon
The manhunt in Omega for three suspects from Colquitt County was called off at 5 p.m. Thursday. The massive search began sometime around lunch between Omega-Eldorado Road and Omega-Ellenton Road in a wooded area, southeast of Omega, following an incident that occurred in Colquitt County, which then led to Tift County.
