TIFTON — Commercial Banking Company gave away over 90 multiplication cards to the third graders at Northside Primary School recently.

The third grade students at G.O. Bailey, Omega, Len Lastinger and Annie Belle Clark primary schools also received these cards. Approximately 700 total third graders received a multiplication card.

Dereck Sumner, CBC’s assistant vice president for the Tifton market, and David D. Buckridge, CBC’s senior vice president-market president for the Tifton market, presented some of the cards to a class of third graders at Northside Thursday morning.

The reaction of Principal Kelly Pearson and Assistant Principal Leah Johnston was: “It’s awesome, because a lot of kids don’t have the material at home. They will use them inside and outside the classroom.”

Sumner told the group of students that as they continue to use and study the cards, in the long run, they will help with them becoming great citizens in the community.

CBC is based out of Valdosta but is new in the Tifton area. The bank opened in Tifton in February; it’s located at 729 W. Second St.

Sumner noted that the cards are a big hit at the main office in Valdosta; they have them made every year around this time.
