Tifton attorney Greg Sowell has been elected president of the UGA Law School Association. Sowell holds both business and law degrees from the University.
The UGA School of Law is recognized as one of the top 10 public law schools in the United States. Georgia Law is currently celebrating its 150th year of providing legal education, having been established in October 1859.
In addition to developing student scholarships and alumni enrichment programs, the Law School Association provides support to the dean in the areas of admissions, curriculum and faculty recruitment and retention.
Sowell is a member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia and is a former member of the State Bar’s Disciplinary Board having served by appointment of the Georgia Supreme Court.
He is a past president of the Tifton Rotary Club, immediate past chair of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce and the long-time chair of the citizens group Friends United for Education that successfully promoted the bond referendum for the current Tift County High School facility along with each education SPLOST.
Sowell is an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at ABAC and is the senior partner of the Sowell Sandifer and Richbourg law firm.

Eye care office, patients give back
