ATLANTA — Staff reports
ATLANTA — Coleman Talley LLP proudly announces the appointment of Wendy S. Butler to the State Road and Tollway Authority by the Office of Georgia Speaker of the House of Representatives, effective Jan. 12.
“We are excited that one of our partners, Wendy Butler, has joined the board of an authority that will be at the forefront of meeting Georgia’s transportation needs,” said Russ Henry, managing partner.
Butler specializes in areas of land use, planning, zoning, environmental, transportation, property rights and governmental law in transactional, litigation and regulatory matters. She leads the firm’s Land Use and Zoning Practice Group, created to focus and centralize matters related to transportation, infrastructure, and water issues facing the State of Georgia and the impact of regional legislation.
Butler received her master’s of Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning and her law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law, with honors. Prior to joining Coleman Talley LLP, she was in private practice by Sidley & Austin in Chicago and Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta.
Butler has assumed leadership positions on many non-profit boards and charitable organizations. Currently, she serves on the board of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, U.S. Congressman Tom Price’s Advisory Roundtable, and as the District One appointee to the DeKalb County Board of Zoning Appeals.
