TIFTON —
A two-vehicle wreck Wednesday night resulted in four people being transported to Tift Regional Medical Center.
SFC Stan Stalnaker, Tifton’s Georgia State Patrol post commander, said the wreck occurred at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Highway 82 near Christian Way (in the Vanceville area).
He stated that 48-year-old Juan Manuel Sanchez, 48, of Fitzgerald, driving a 2001 Ford pickup truck, pulled out from a private driveway to enter Highway 82 when he was struck on the driver’s side by a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by Fred Jackson Porter, 79, of Enigma. Porter was traveling west.
Both Sanchez and Porter had passengers. Luis Miguel Perez-Florez, 24, of Fitzgerald was a passenger in the Ford pickup, and Blondean Baker Porter, 76, of Enigma was a passenger in the Ford Crown Victoria.
All four individuals were transported by Emergency Medical Services to Tift Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to a spokesperson at TRMC, Sanchez is in fair condition, Fred and Blondean Porter are both in good condition, and Perez-Florez has been sent to Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.
Stalnaker said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Sanchez was charged with driving with an expired license and failure to yield the right away.
