TIFTON —
On Saturday, Dec. 8, troopers from the Georgia State Patrol Post 13 in Tifton were assisted by Tift County sheriff-elect Gene Scarbrough in conducting a toy drive at Walmart to benefit Toys for Tots.
In four hours, approximately 300 toys and $1,300 in donations were collected, says SFC Stan Stalnaker, Tifton’s GSP post commander.
Additional toys will be purchased with the cash donations and all of them will be distributed in the local community.
This was the fourth year the GSP has assisted with collecting toys and cash donations to be distributed to less fortunate children at Christmas.
Stalnaker wishes to thank everyone for their generous donations to Toys for Tots.
