— Teacher Amy McClendon’s fourth grade class at Charles Spencer Elementary recently studied a unit on force and motion. They completed several experiments involving friction, gravity and centripetal force. With background knowledge of the forces that make a roller coaster work, students worked in cooperative groups to design and construct their own roller coasters made from pipe insulation and recyclable items from home.
