Northside Baptist to hold ‘One Starry Night’

TIFTON — Northside Baptist Church of Tifton will be presenting “One Starry Night”, a church-wide Christmas event for families, Dec. 7-9. The doors will open at 6 p.m., and the parking lot will be closed at 8:30 p.m. each night. Admission is free; there is no need for reservations.

The following quote from Northside Baptist visually describes the event:

“Hear the pounding of the blacksmith hammer, the braying of donkeys and the shouts of fishmongers selling their catch. Enter the gates of Bethlehem. Follow the shepherds to the newborn babe lying in a manger. Let the wonder of the season warm you in that star-lit stable.”

According to Cris Lawson with Northside Baptist Church, “Last year we recognized that the ‘wait’ outside was the greatest need for improvement. So, we have built the journey through the market place and the manger to be outdoors, and you will be waiting inside with the heater on and also seated in the auditorium. Carts have been secured to make the journey more accessible to those who need assistance.”

Also, Lawson said there will be entertainment in the sanctuary while people are waiting to go on their journey. Groups such as Eighth Street Singing Company, Three 4 One, P32, high school choirs, Tammy Arrant and TJ Mauldin Band will be performing.

“It is going to be a great event,” Lawson said. “Don’t miss out.”

He added that this event is Northside Baptist’s gift to the community at this most holy of seasons.

“We hope One Starry Night becomes your new Christmas tradition,” he stated.

Northside Baptist Church is located at 4605 Murray Ave.
