A FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR TIFT COUNTY AND MUCH OF THE REGION THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING, ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST ALABAMA, FLORIDA AND GEORGIA, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS: .IN SOUTHEAST ALABAMA: COFFEE, DALE, GENEVA, HENRY AND HOUSTON.
IN FLORIDA: BAY, CALHOUN, COASTAL WALTON, FRANKLIN, GADSDEN, GULF, HOLMES, INLAND WALTON, JACKSON, JEFFERSON, LEON, LIBERTY, WAKULLA AND WASHINGTON.
IN GEORGIA: BAKER, BEN HILL, BERRIEN, BROOKS, CALHOUN, CLAY, COLQUITT, COOK, DECATUR, DOUGHERTY, EARLY, GRADY, IRWIN, LANIER, LEE, LOWNDES, MILLER, MITCHELL, QUITMAN, RANDOLPH, SEMINOLE, TERRELL, THOMAS, TIFT, TURNER AND WORTH.
A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM NEAR THE SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA COASTLINE THIS EVENING WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE EAST ALONG THE NORTHERN GULF COAST THROUGH FRIDAY.
A WIDESPREAD AREA OF RAIN WITH SOME EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL QUICKLY SPREAD INTO THE REGION AND CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
WIDESPREAD RAINFAL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE ANTICIPATED WITH THIS SYSTEM...WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS OF UP TO 3 TO 5 INCHES POSSIBLE BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
THIS RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO LEAD TO ADDITIONAL RISES ON ALREADY SWOLLEN RIVERS ACROSS THE AREA.
A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON CURRENT FORECASTS.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.

Local vet injured in motorcycle accident
