Police seek murder suspect

TIFTON — Law enforcement agents have issued murder warrants against an Ashburn man they believe killed a Ty Ty man Saturday and left his body off a rural road in Turner County. The man is being considered armed and dangerous and a $500 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.

Steve Wood, chief deputy at the Turner County Sheriff’s Office, said Monday that murder warrants have been issued for Nathan Emmanuel Holley, 34, of Ashburn for the death of Tommy Wayne Giles, 58, of Ty Ty. The GBI is also assisting in the investigation.

“Holley is an avid hunter and he does own weapons,” Woods said. “He’s on the run.”

Wood said investigators don’t yet have a motive for the homicide. He said Holley and Giles worked together recently at C & S Builders in Ty Ty.

According to Wood, Giles' body was found off Bobby Reeves Road in Turner County at 4 p.m. Saturday. The man who owns the land had seen a truck in the area earlier Saturday and thought it might have been someone dumping trash at the location illegally. When he made another round in the area later in the afternoon, he found Giles' body. Wood said Giles wasn’t killed at the location where his body was found and that he was probably killed Saturday morning.

Wood said fingerprint identification through the FBI positively identified the body as that of Giles.

“We had an unidentified body until 11 p.m. Saturday,” Wood said.

Wood said Giles' body has been sent to the GBI crime lab in Macon for an autopsy to determine, among other things, the exact cause of his death.

Wood said that authorities had located Holley’s wife and children.

“At one time, we were very concerned for their safety, but they are safe,” Wood said.

Wood said Giles lived alone and he was unsure of his marital status.

Holley could be driving a red 2000 GMC Sierra four-by-four truck with Georgia tag number AMG7577. The truck has a deer head sticker on the back glass with “Size Matters.” Holley is described as 5’11” tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has reddish-brown hair and has a tattoo of a sword and a rose on his upper right arm.
