Special to The Gazette
TIFTON — The Georgia Dept. of Labor’s Tifton Career Center and the Tiftarea Campus of Moultrie Technical College is sponsoring the community’s fifth annual Career Fair for employers and job seekers in the area from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Nov. 13 on the Tiftarea Campus of MTC, 52 Tech Drive.
“Our job fairs and career fairs have long proven to be effective tools for matching good employers with qualified job seekers,” said Michael Thurmond, State Labor Commissioner.
Thurmond said that although Georgia is going through challenging economic times with rising unemployment and limited job growth, employment opportunities still exist. Thurmond said it might take a little longer for the job seeker to find the right job, but those who persist will succeed.
“I strongly urge job seekers and employers alike to take full advantage of the services and opportunities available at this career fair, as well as through the Georgia Dept. of Labor’s Tifton Career Center.”
The event will feature approximately 25 employers who will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers. Other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event are: Arbonne International; Avon Products; Bowen, Phillips & Carmichael; Crete Carrier Corporation; Cypress Pond at Home; Diversified Enterprises; Equity Georgia Division; Georgia Air National Guard; Heatcraft Refrigeration Products; Kids Advocacy Coalition; Labor Finders; Marshall’s Learning Center; Mediacom Communications; Mother’s Love Child Care; Papa John’s Pizza; Rescare Homecare Service; Source Care Management; Target Distribution Center; Tift County Board of Education; Tift Health Care; Tift Regional Medical Center; U.S. Air Force; Walton Medical Staffing; and Woodmen of the World.
