NORMAN PARK — Two alleged burglars, including a 16-year-old boy, were apprehended after a Norman Park woman walked in on them Tuesday afternoon.
Glenn Lashley, 40, of 318 Doc Darbyshire Road, Lot 9, in Norman Park, and the 16-year-old boy were each charged with burglary.
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Investigator Lt. Shannon Hart said a Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to a house on Highway 319 North in Norman Park at 4:38 p.m. Tuesday. The deputy spoke with Alice Lungsford, who stated she had just walked in the door when she saw an unknown white male inside her house.
Lungsford and the white male, later identified as Lashley, startled each other, and Hart said she ran out the front door while he fled out the back door. She told the deputy she had three broken gold rings and costume jewelry allegedly stolen by him. The value of the stolen jewelry was $500.
Investigators and a Colquitt County K-9 were called to search for Lashley, Hart said. He was spotted at the Chevron Station on North Veterans Parkway a short time later, and the boy was with him there.
Hart said both Lashley and the boy were apprehended at the station and taken back to the house. Lungsford positively identified Lashley as the man she saw when she entered the house, and he was placed under arrest, police reports said.
All of the jewelry reported stolen was allegedly found on him and on the boy, Hart said. Lashley was taken to Colquitt County Jail while the boy was turned over to his guardian following the incident.
