TIFTON — A man reported early Wednesday morning that he had been robbed at gunpoint at his residence in the 1500 block of Ermine Avenue.

According to the incident report filed at the Tifton Police Department, the 27-year-old man told the responding officer that around 3 a.m., an unknown individual knocked on his door. When he opened the door, the man was forced back into his residence by a black male pointing a pistol in his face, while another black male stood outside the door. The man reported that the suspect holding the gun had a black T-shirt wrapped around his face, which was recovered by the police later at the scene and collected for evidence.

According to the incident report, the man was ordered by the suspect with the pistol to give up his money. The man reported that he gave the suspect $300. After retrieving the money, the two suspects fled the scene, shot twice in the air and ran into the alley located between Alder Street and Elm Street.

The man reported that the suspect with the gun and black T-shirt around his face was about 5’9” tall and skinny with long dreads. The suspect who was standing outside the door was about 5’5” tall and skinny with low-cut hair. Both males were dressed in all black and only the one holding the pistol spoke.

The man reported to the responding officer that he was unsure if he recognized the suspects. The black male with dreads possibly could have been someone he has let into his house before, but he didn’t know the location of the suspect’s residence.

The area was checked for the suspects but neither could be located at that time, the report states. A special patrol was put out for the residence and the man who reported the incident was advised to notify the Tifton Police Department with any other information on the suspects.
