MACON — Macon’s Cherry Blossom Festival is beginning its annual 10-day run, and its new CEO says she’s looking for feedback on what should be added or changed.
Ribbon-cutting for the event was scheduled for noon on Friday. CEO Karen Lambert says she hasn’t added new events this year, but there will be some new venues and other minor changes.
Lambert says she’s working on creating new partnerships as well as promoting the festival at other times of the year.
She pointed to the Cherry Blossom Ball Drop, in which the festival partnered with NewTown Macon for a New Year’s Eve event, as an example.
The Cherry Blossom parade is scheduled for Sunday afternoon with floats, military units, marching bands and costumed performers.
