TIFTON — Saturday’s “Winter Fest Sock It to ‘em With Love” event at Copeland Park had a great turnout in children and adults, who enjoyed music, games, food and valuable health information. This event was presented by Tift County Commissioner Melissa Chevers and Amerigroup Real Solutions. Pictured is a local child getting his face painted by someone dressed in a clown suit. Tuesday is the deadline to donate socks for the sock drive. Donations of new children’s socks will be distributed through the Tifton Housing Authority and the Department of Family and Children Services before Valentine’s Day. Socks can be dropped off at the following sites: the Charles A. Kent Administration Building (Tift County Commissioner’s office), Solomon Nixon Funeral Home and Eagles Wings Judah Worship Center on Southern Avenue.
