TIFTON — A clerk at a Ty Ty convenience store reported an armed robbery to sheriff’s deputies late Tuesday.
Tift County Sheriff’s Department reports said Ricky Patel of Ty Ty told officers a man wielding a gun entered the Holiday Market at 4639 Highway 82 West and demanded money. Patel said he gave the man the money and he fled. The report was made at 10:23 p.m. Tuesday.
In an unrelated incident, an Omega company reported the theft of approximately 1,100 feet of span wire from an irrigation pivot. The wire had an approximate value of $5,500 and was taken from a pivot owned by Pond O Gold, located on Ty Ty-Omega Road near Omega.
The felony theft of the wire was reported to the TCSO on Monday by Scott Dunn of Pond O Gold.
