Donations needed for ‘Supply Closet’

CNHI

TIFTON — School clothing, school supplies and backpacks — items many take for granted — are instrumental for a child’s development. The Tift County School System will open the “Caring for Kids” Clothing and Supply Closet in August to assist families in need by providing students in the school system with gently used clothing and new school supplies.

School social workers will begin accepting donations of clothing and school supplies the first of August. While the clothing closet is open to receive donations of gently used clothing items, other items must be purchased. Monetary donations will be used to purchase new socks, new underwear and new shoes for the students. If you are interested in making a monetary donation, or donating clothing or school supplies, contact Gina Cox, director of student services, at 387-2400. All donations are tax-deductible, and receipts will be gladly given upon request.
