TIFTON —
A semi-truck crashed early Tuesday morning on Interstate 75 near the Exit 62 ramp causing the box trailer, which was completely loaded down with frozen seafood, to split open. Trooper David Sellars with Georgia State Patrol Post 13 said the accident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday. He stated that the driver, 53-year-old Guiquan Wang of San Gabriel, Calif., along with passenger and truck driver Yong Xing Dong, 47, of Hapeville, were traveling southbound on I-75 and crossed southbound, getting on the ramp and then continuing off the roadway, hitting a ditch. Wang started back up the embankment, went through a Georgia Department of Transportation chain-link fence and then turned over. Sellars said Wang informed him that the accident occurred because he didn’t realize that the road continued to curve.
He advised that neither Wang, nor Dong, were seriously injured. They suffered minor injuries and were not transported to the hospital.
