Former Berrien County drug investigator charged with felony theft by conversion

TIFTON — A former drug investigator with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested and charged with felony theft by conversion.

According to Lt. Wayne Luke, lead investigator with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, John Alan Mann Jr. was arrested on felony theft by conversion charges Wednesday and appeared before Berrien County Magistrate Chief Judge Elizabeth Carter Thursday. Carter set an $8,000 property bond on the charges. A licensed bondsman, approved by Berrien County Sheriff Anthony Heath, signed Mann’s bond, Luke said.

“If anyone who might have sold property to Mr. Mann or bought property from him and has had difficulty getting titles for the property, please give me call,” Luke said.
