TY TY — In Ty Ty, James Arrington and his fiancé, Kim Luke, stand before their 12-foot tomato plant in their backyard. According to Arrington, he purchased beef hybrid tomato seeds at Lowe’s back in April. Over the months, the plant continued to naturally grow with plenty of rain water and labor to keep it up from dying or losing its evergreen color. As Luke stated, “It just took off.” Arrington said that more than 120 tomatoes have already been picked with a few being sandwich size; most were big enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Luke, who’s never cared for tomatoes before, has found these home-grown vegetables to be juicy and delicious on a BLT. Arrington and Luke hopes the plant continues to grow and look to plant another one in the future.
