TIFTON —
The Tift County Development Authority and the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce has announced that Cannon Express, headquartered in Lithonia, is opening a new cross-dock operation in Tifton.
Cannon Express is a well-established and financially sound company that provides transportation, warehousing and distribution services at the local, regional and national levels. The company operates 12 cross-dock facilities strategically located throughout the southeast.
Company officials were eager to expand operations into Tifton. This location offers strategic advantages for the southeastern market and the ability to grow the company. Having a presence in Tifton will allow the company to continue to be an industry leader in the logistics arena.
“We continue to experience a steady flow of logistics activity. Cannon Express is our most recent success story in this sector. We are pleased to welcome the company to Tifton and look forward to a long and prosperous partnership,” said Brian Marlowe, president & CEO of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce and the Tift County Development Authority.
Cannon Express is located in the Oakridge Business Complex. This project represents new local investment and numerous new jobs for the Tifton-Tift County community.

Tifton man arrested in marijuana sting
The Mid-South Narcotics Task Force, along with the Tift County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant May 7 on the residence of 36-year-old Daniel Eubanks, located at 905 36th Street in Tifton. The search warrant was served as part of a joint investigation with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office into Eubanks' marijuana distribution.
