Crime briefs:
• A student at Charles Spencer Elementary School was suspended from school for five days after he was caught with three Blazer 9mm bullets in his backpack Wednesday. The report states that the student told school officials that he found the bullets at the bus stop and picked them up.

Justin Martinez Horton, 23, 2302 S. College Ave., was charged Thursday with six counts of cruelty to animals.
