TIFTON —
Little River Wood Turning Club, a local group from Tift and neighboring counties, will be the featured artists from 12:30 until 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the “Second Saturdays” series at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
“We are excited to have the Little River Wood Turners return to the museum Saturday,” Polly Huff, gallery coordinator from the ABAC Arts Connection said.
The Little River Wood Turning club is a group of over 20 woodworking enthusiasts who meet monthly to share tips and experiences and to learn new wood turning techniques.
The group will demonstrate different bowl turning techniques inside the Museum’s Variety Works shop on Saturday. Members of the club will be available to answer questions from visitors, and will have some of their finished work available for sale.
Visitors to the museum can also sample Wiregrass Georgia dishes being cooked in some of the farmhouses, crack corn at the Feed & Seed and feed it to the animals, ride the steam train, tour the village and shop inside the Country Store which now carries many items created by Georgia artisans and food producers.
For more information on “Second Saturdays” and a full calendar of events, interested persons can contact Huff at (229) 391-5222 or phuff@abac.edu.
