TIFTON —
The Tift County Board of Education has announced that school will be canceled Tuesday for local Tift County schools.
Tift County Schools Superintendent Patrick Atwater released the following statement this morning:
“Based on current and forecasted weather conditions and out of precaution for transportation safety, the decision has been made to cancel school for tomorrow, Feb. 26. At this time, school is scheduled to re-open Wednesday, Feb. 27. If this information changes, it will be posted on our website, local radio and local television. Faculty and staff are not expected to report to work. Principals will report to work to turn around any students that come to school and need to be returned home.

Tifton man arrested in marijuana sting
The Mid-South Narcotics Task Force, along with the Tift County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant May 7 on the residence of 36-year-old Daniel Eubanks, located at 905 36th Street in Tifton. The search warrant was served as part of a joint investigation with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office into Eubanks' marijuana distribution.
