TIFTON —
Local man Harry King of King’s Productions will be presenting a holiday musical at 5 p.m. Saturday at Cathedral of Praise, located at 714 W. Broad Ave. in Albany. King said he partnered with the Dougherty County School System and the Albany Police Department. This event is free to the public.
King is the minister of music at Cathedral of Praise and also at Sanctuary of Praise, located at 1307 S. Central Ave. in Tifton. The pastor of both churches is Tramaine Hill of Tifton.
King stated that the purpose of the holiday musical is to raise awareness about safety during the holidays while also enjoying some good holiday music. The APD will provide holiday safety tips during the event.
“It’s going to be educational,” King said, adding that it’s the little things that people can do so that they won’t be a victim.
He noted that the APD will also be putting together a choir to sing at the event. Other performers include musicians and singers from Tift and Dougherty counties, King’s “Family of Friends” choir, choirs from Cathedral of Praise and Sanctuary of Praise and different groups from surrounding counties.
Songs from King’s newly released Christmas album, “King’s Production Christmas,” will be performed Saturday night as well. The album is $10 and is available at Lion Chasers Christian Book Store on Second Street or King’s studio, located at 400-B N. Central Ave. (behind First Baptist Church).
King has been in business for three years. His goal is to have a music school started by next year.
