IRWIN COUNTY — Christopher L. Sirmans, 51, of Irwin County, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Elder Travis Fussell and Elder Phillip Smith officiating. A eulogy will be given by Randy Crenshaw. Interment will follow at Fletcher Cemetery in Alapaha with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Sirmans was born May 27, 1961 in Ocilla to Danny and Dorothy Elizabeth Walker Sirmans. He lived in the community all of his life. He was graduated from Irwin County High School in 1979. He was a 32-year employee of Irwin EMC, serving as manager of construction. He was a member of the Ocilla Rotary Club, past Master and secretary of the Ocilla Lodge # 134 F&AM and the Worthy Patron of the Osceola Chapter 431 Order of the Eastern Star. He was very involved in the construction of the Irwin EMC trebuchet melon and pumpkin chunker. He attended Union Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Redelia Fussell Sirmans of Irwin County; a son, Andrew Sirmans of Atkinson; a daughter and son-in-law, Adrienne and Naz Escobar of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren, Rhiana Lynn Escobar and Nazaret Lane Escobar of Fitzgerald; parents, Danny and Dorothy Elizabeth Walker Sirmans of Ocilla; brothers: John and Debbie Sirmans of Ocilla and James Sirmans of Collins.
