Rex Kilpatrick

CHULA — Rex Kilpatrick, 64, of Chula, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.  The Rev. Jimmy Sumner and the Rev. Brad McVea will officiate with burial to follow in Oakridge Cemetery.  Bernardo Rodriguez, Homer Adams Jr, James Kilpatrick, Austin McMillian, Johnny Thomas, Quienton Johnson and Joel Delk will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Lunsford, Andrew Blanchard and Jacob Woodard.  The family will receive friends today, and Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Kilpatrick was born on Feb. 18, 1948 in Pikes, Ala., and was the son of Ernest Kilpatrick and Mae Dean McClendon, both deceased.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Judy Barnes Kilpatrick, who died in 2006; two brothers; one sister and one grandson.  He attended Bible Baptist Church in Tifton and was a member of Woodmen of the World.  He dearly loved his family and lived for his grandchildren.

Mr. Kilpatrick is survived by four sons, James Larry Barnes of Brunswick, Talmadge Lee Adams of Santa Rosa, N.M, Homer Dewitt Adams Jr. of Tifton and Nicholas Andrew Hand of Chula; three daughters, Catherine Melissa Bruner of Tifton, Kemberley McMillian of Ocilla and Vicky Lynn Kilpatrick of Starke, Fla.; two brothers, James Earl Rugg of Ariton, Ala. and Jimmy Kilpatrick of Tifton; four sisters, Sara Troupe of Enigma, Cleone Rugg of Chula, Debra Williams of Brundidge, Ala. and Linda Hogan of Albany; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 24 nieces and nephews.
