ENIGMA —
Melba Grantham Roberts, 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Irwin County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church in Berrien County with Elder Robert Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. tonight at Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Roberts was born December 13, 1927 in Ocilla to the late John and Frankie Sirmans Grantham. A graduate of Mystic High School, she taught school for a year at Riverbend School. She was a homemaker and was a former employee of My Fabric and Gift Shop in Tifton. She was a member of Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church. She loved her family, crocheting and fishing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Blease and 2 sisters, Eloise Gibbs and Ethel Kate Grantham.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by her husband, Darby Roberts of Enigma; children, Jerry and Louise Roberts of Enigma, Don and Debbie Roberts of Franklin, N.C., Susan and Paul Whitten of Swansea, S.C. and Tillman Roberts of Old Town, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; sister and brother-in-law: JoAnn and Carlton Whitley of Ocilla. Paulk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
