Wilma Davis Womack


CHULA — Wilma Davis Womack, 79, of Chula died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Chula, with the Rev. Chad Hall and the Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter officiating. Burial will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Roger Mangham, David King, Russ Griffin, Chad Dotson, Colt Swords and Derrell Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Men’s 3 Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Chula.

Born June 21, 1930 in Sunsweet (Tift County), to the late Oliver Macon Davis and Gina Tanner Davis, Mrs. Womack was a lifetime resident of Sunsweet and Chula, where she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Chula. She loved cooking, shopping, sewing and loved taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thearon Davis, and a grandson, Joshua Womack.

Mrs. Womack is survived by her husband, James B. “J.B.” Womack Jr. of Chula; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and June Womack and Raymond and Jackie Womack, all of Chula; her sister, Verna D. Leckinger of Tallahassee, Fla.; her grandchildren, Tanesha and Chad Dotson, Terance and Lisa Womack, and Jessica and Colt Swords; and her great-grandchildren, Lauren and Landon Dotson.
