Glendyon M. Foster

BEN HILL COUNTY — Glendyon M. Foster, 72, of Ben Hill County, died Friday, Nov. 23,2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today at Crossview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Parmer and Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Foster was born Jan. 22, 1940 in Ocilla to the late Chester E. and Rebecca Walker Foster. He was a 1958 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mr. Foster was a former employee of Rainbow Manufacturing, Smyrna Electrical, GTE, Gold Kist and was a retired manager of Farmers’ Quality Peanut. He was co-owner of D & F Grain and worked for many years with his father as an egg farmer. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War Era. A member of Crossview Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and was formerly a Gideon.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jo Vickers Foster of Fitzgerald; children, Glenda Jo and Mark Sams of Holt, Danny and Melanie Foster, Barry and Lisa Foster and Glen Foster, all of Fitzgerald; brothers, Herman and Cora Faye Foster of Fitzgerald and Archie and Linda Rae Foster of Ocilla; sisters,  Marcella Singletary of Kennesaw and Reba & Gerald Day of Sylvester; sister-in-law:  Sue Foster of Fitzgerald; grandchildren:  Mandy & Jim Black, Wes & Bridget Walters, Jake and Kristy Walters, Cori & Zak Palmer, Justin Foster, Rebekah Foster, Brad Foster, Anna and Kyle Howell, Zachary Foster, Jackson Foster and Peyton Foster; and great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug Foster and an infant brother, and a brother-in-law, Buddy Singletary.

The family suggests memorials be made to Crossview Baptist Church, P.O. Box 413, Fitzgerald, GA 31750 or Blue Gray Community Hospice, P.O. Box 1447, Fitzgerald, GA 31750.
