FITZGERALD — Alice Rudine Merritt, 80, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009 at Tift Health Care. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Osierfield Cemetery with the Rev. David Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Paulk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Merritt was born Oct. 5, 1928 in Ben Hill County to the late Archie L. and Eva Berryhill Merritt. She lived in Fitzgerald all of her life and was a former employee of H.R. Kaminsky and Sons. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Merritt is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randy G. and Barbara Merritt of Fitzgerald; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Glynell Merritt of Fitzgerald and Larry Merritt of Houston, Texas; sisters and brother-in-law, Martha and Leonard Merritt of St. Simons Island and Laquita Joyner of Pelzer, S.C.; special friends, Dora Akins and Tracy White; and several nieces and nephews.
