GU-WIN, Ala. —
Mr. Hubert Lyman McBrayer, 64 of Gu-Win, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Miss. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home with C. W. Box officiating. Active pallbearers will be Mike Criswell, Stan Criswell, Rufus Culp, Jerry Odell, David Gann, Mike Johnson and Ricky Reed. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery with Military Honors being presented.
Lyman was born Aug. 6, 1948 in Tifton, a son of Hubert McBrayer and Eunice Goff McBrayer. He graduated from Tifton High School, and was a resident of Gu-Win for past 40 years. He was also an U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, and later retired as Lead Lineman for Alabama Power with 37 years of service. He was also a member of Combat Veterans, and a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one son, Shane McBrayer of Gu-Win and his companion, Mercedi Hitt; one daughter, Amy McBrayer Guin of Gu-Win and her companion, Lance LeDuke; two grandchildren, Hayden Spiller and Presley Guin; one brother, Larry McBrayer and his wife, Gloria, of Tifton; two sisters, Lugene Wisham and her husband, Bill, of Tifton and Eva Welch and her husband, Wayne, of Moultrie ; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
