Arlie M. Castleberry

SYLVESTER — Arlie M. Castleberry, 89 of Sylvester (Doles Community), died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Red Oak Baptist Church with burial to follow at Providence Cemetery in Worth County with Masonic Rites and Military Honors. In honor of Mr. Castleberry’s wishes, there will be no visitation.

Mr. Castleberry was the son of the late Elder B. Samuel and Georgia Pearl Kilcrease Castleberry. He was born in Worth County. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and Civil Service from the U.S. Marine Corp Logistic Base in Albany. He was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church, Sycamore Lodge #210 and Worth Masonic Lodge #194. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nyoka Banks Castleberry, four brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his daughters, Arlene Sheller of Santa Maria, Calif. and Iona Hermanson of Hermosa, S.D. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Eric Sheller and Chad Sheller and his brothers, Herbert Castleberry of Doles and Gerald Castleberry of Sylvester.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Vicky Quaile, Angel Quaile, and Hospice of Tift Area for the loving care they provided.
