McCrimmon

IRWINVILLE— Bobbie Pearl Dixon Evans McCrimmon, 76, of Irwinville, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008 at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Big Creek Baptist Church in Irwin County with the Rev. Ed Reeves and the Rev. Tommy Land Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mrs. McCrimmon was born Feb. 28, 1932 in Irwin County to the late Elbert Dixon and the late Katie Pearl Williams Dixon Morehead. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. “Junie” Evans; a sister, Lafern Dixon; a brother, Jimmy Dixon and a daughter-in-law, Shirlene Evans.

She lived in the community most of her life, retiring from Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla after more than 25 years of service as a receptionist helping families in Ben Hill and Irwin counties. One of her joys was sharing chocolate with everyone. Mrs. McCrimmon was also a former employee of Dill’s Hardware, Halperin’s Department Store and Belk’s. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, the Rev. Wayne McCrimmon of Irwinville; sons and their spouses, Rick and DeeDee Evans, Stanley and Marla Evans and Sam Evans, all of Irwinville; grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Pam Evans, Jodi and Chase Lott, Eric and Rebecca Evans, Maghan Evans, Chris Evans and Scarlett and Erston Royal; six great-grandchildren; sisters and their spouses, Virginia and Alvin Evans of Perry, Sandra Jacobs of Tifton, Linda and Wayne Weaver of Ocilla and Iris and Dan Henderson of Ocilla as well as several nieces and nephews.

Hayes Coarsey

BROOKFIELD— Othel Myrtice Hayes Coarsey, 94, of Brookfield, died Monday, Sept.15, 2008, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with Dr. W. Ches Smith III officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Michael Morris, Raleigh Coarsey III, Bruce Dillard, Chris Dillard, Jim Hay, Joe Hay, Butch Coarsey and Carroll Coarsey will serve as pallbearers. Bob Reinhardt, Jake Herring, Betty Burdette and members of the Order of the Eastern Star will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Coarsey was born Feb. 11, 1914, in Glory (Berrien County) to Thomas C. Hayes and Nancy Elizabeth Benefield Hayes, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raleigh Eve Coarsey Sr., who was a former Tift County Commissioner, six sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Coarsey was a member of the Brookfield Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an outstanding, conservative business woman in Tift County, having run her family farm for many years where she was involved in managing farms, timberland and investments. Mrs. Coarsey was a wonderful mother to her children and grandchildren, was dedicated to her sisters and made an impact on many children through her work in the schools. Additionally, she had been a paraprofessional at Charles Spencer Elementary School, had worked at the Brookfield Post Office and sold crop insurance.

Mrs. Coarsey is survived by her children, Sandra and Dr. Lee Morris of Florence, S.C., Raleigh E. “Buddy” and Charlotte Coarsey of Brookfield; and Elizabeth C. Dillard of Vanceville; her grandchildren, Michael Morris, Raleigh E. Coarsey III, Bruce and Gina Dillard, Chris Dillard and Beth and Tom Lawry; her great-grandchildren, Justin Coarsey, Emily Dillard, Jacob Dillard, and Alyssa and Hailey Lawry; a niece, Lawanna Hay of Thomasville; and several other nieces and nephews.

Margaret Franks

Davis

LENOX— Margaret Franks Davis, 81, of Lenox, died Sept. 16, 2008 at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lenox Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. Jimmie Hinson and the Rev. Lamar Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Lenox City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Davis was born Aug. 15, 1927 in Stewart County to James Orville and Mimmie Lee Allen Womack, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Hershel Franks; her second husband, Johnnie Thomas Davis; one son, Derrell Franks; two brothers, Edwin and James Womack and two sisters, Louise Hall and Mildred Pearson.

Mrs. Davis lived in Cook County most of her life. She retired from Metal Products. Mrs. Davis was a member of Lenox Christian Fellowship Church.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Everett and Sherry Franks of Lenox, Joe Ed and Lynn Franks of Gainesville and Jimmy and Ginny Franks of Waynesboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Larry Arnold of Lenox; one brother, Jimmy Womack of Elberton; two sisters, Juanita Young of Flint, Mich., and Helen Green of Woodstock; 13 grandchildren, Krystle Dixon, Kandice Franks, Katie Franks, Suzanne Burroughs, Brannen Burroughs, Joey Franks, Morgan Edenfield, Chance Franks, Whitney Franks, Meredith Franks, Deena Griffin, Dawn Davis and Landra Harrell; and five great-grandchildren.

Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
