Blonnie Bell Pickren

COLQUITT— Blonnie Bell Pickren, 97, of Colquitt County died Oct. 12, 2008 at Miller County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Talmadge Worsley and Bro. Jimmie Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Primitive Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pickren was born Nov. 25, 1910 in Early County to J. W. and Hettie Nix, both deceased. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Drew T. Pickren, daughter, Ellen Diane Pickren; brother Henry Nix; three sisters, Miriam Gilbert, Boysie Houston and Esther Davis; and special friend Ernie Maddox.

Mrs. Pickren was the oldest member of the New Salem Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker and loved to cook and share with family and friends.

Mrs. Pickren is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Johnnie Ruth and Lester Nalls of Tifton, Shirley Joy Gordon of Cummings and Polly and Joe Warren of Kissimmee, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, T. Max and Betty Pickren of Sylvester; sister, Frances Cotner of Tallahassee; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Roger and Linda Nalls Sr., Craig and Terri Nalls, Terri and Mitch Trimble, Tanya and Ricky Collins, Tommy and Cindy Pickren, Joey and Kirsten Warren, Steve Warren and Nelson Warren; seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jewel and Talmadge Worsley.
