ALAPAHA —
Laura Mae Davis Lewis of Alapaha died Friday, Aug. 25, 2010 at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Alapaha, with Pastor Raymond Paschal and Pastor Shirley Strawter officiating. Burial will follow at West Fletcher Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Black and Son Chapel in Nashville.
Survivors include a son, Alonzo Lewis of Elgin, Ill.; four daughters, Verneta Carter of Warner Robins, Evelyn Thomas and Phyllis Ann Hilliard, both of Alapaha, and Jacquelyn Roye of Bolingbrook, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Black and Son Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
