John David Addison Sr.

TIFTON — John David Addison Sr., 75, of Tifton, died Wednesday, March 27, 2010 in Tifton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lunsford Funeral Home in Cuthbert. The Rev. Brantley Seymour will officiate, with burial to follow at East View Cemetery in Cuthbert. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 tonight at Lunsford Funeral Home in Cuthbert.

Mr. Addison was born on Dec. 9, 1934 in Cuthbert. He was the son of the late James Bryant and Minnie Perkins Addison. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Addison; a grandson, John James Addison; a brother, Robert Addison; and a sister, Eleanor Harris. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Tifton, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a road supervisor, and he was also retired from the Tift County Road Department.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Lofton Addison of Tifton; two sons, John David Addison Jr. of Springville, Ala., and Michael Addison of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Tina Marie Woods of Tifton and Donna Frances Hornung of Athens, Ala.; three sisters, Mary Frances Herndon Dawson of Cuthbert, Judy Adkinson of Suches and Minnie Lee Cannon of Dawson; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
