Mary Alice “Peggy” Kovac

ASHBURN — Mary Alice “Peggy” Kovac, 82, of Ashburn died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Heritage Health Care in Ashburn following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.

Mrs. Kovac was born in Eaton Rapids, Mich., the daughter of the late Timothy and Mary Martin Bennett. She had resided in Ashburn for the last twenty years. Mrs. Kovac was retired from the Auditing Department of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan. She was the former Secretary/Manager of the Ashburn-Turner County Chamber of Commerce for eight years. She enjoyed cooking, playing bridge, painting, drawing and traveling. She was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years John T. Kovac of Ashburn; three sons: Steven (Juanita) Kovac of Lawrenceville, Eric (Margie) Kovac of Mary Esther, Fla., Paul (Lisa) Kovac of Midland, Mich.;one daughter, Susan (Phillip) Sanders of Jupiter, Fla. Also surviving are five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one brother, James Bennett, Kalamazoo, Mich.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tenn. or the Wounded Warriors Project.
