William Gary "Bill" Bailey

TIFTON — William Gary "Bill" Bailey, 79, of Nashville, died Tuesday Feb. 19, 2013 in the South Georgia Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery with full military honors.

He was born Oct. 6, 1933 in Brooks County to the late Seaborn Edward Bailey and the late Inez Dampier. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force, served in the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hughes Bailey of Nashville; a daughter, Tammy Nelson of Tifton; two sons, Gary Bailey of Tifton and Larry Bailey of Holliday, Fla.; four sisters, Edna LaVann Story of Waycross, Donna Shiver of Tifton, Mary Mixon of Manor and Barbara Moore of Manor; four brothers, Johnny Bailey of Waycross, Aaron Wesley Bailey of Waynesville, Ronald Bailey of Boaz, Ala. and Bruce Bailey of Waycross; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
