Wayne M. Bridges

WARWICK — Wayne M. Bridges, 73, of Warwick, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Turner County, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.

Mr. Bridges was a native of Worth County and was the son of the late Otis Monroe and Mary Griffin Bridges. He was a retired farmer and member of the Rocky Mount Baptist Church and the Sycamore Lodge #210. He was a longtime resident of Turner County before moving back to the farm where he was raised in Worth County. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Angela C. Bridges; a daughter, Dawn Bridges; and a sister, Linda B. Lunsford.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Willingham Bridges of Warwick; children, Dell B. and Ricky Smith of Tifton, Donna B. and Ricky Cawley of Ashburn, Debbie and James Moore of Warwick, Scott and Dale Blue of Franklin, John and Mary Blue of Sycamore and Sherri and Jerry Simmons of Tifton; and brothers, Larry N. Bridges of Cordele and Michael Bridges of Shreveport, La.; five grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
