Lisa Allison

IRWIN COUNTY — Lisa Marie Purvis Allison, 41, of Irwin County died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Ocilla Church of God with the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Burial will follow at Riverbend Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Ocilla Church of God.

Mrs. Allison was born Oct. 1, 1968 in Bellflower, Calif., to the Rev. Virgil and Hazel Watson Purvis. She was a 1986 graduate of Tift County High School and recieved her nurse’s training from ABAC. She also attended the University of Kentucky at Elizabethtown. A registered nurse, Lisa was a member of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students. She lived in the Gladys community for the past 13 years. She was an active member of the Ocilla Church of God where she was co-leader of the SPIN college and career class and an active member of the Praise Team.

Along with her parents, she is survived by her children, Heather Marie Allison and Brady Wayne Allison, both of Irwin County; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Allen “Bo” Boazman of Irwin County; three nieces, Nichole Richardson, Abby Boazman and Sarah Boazman; great-nephews, Wesley Richardson and Cam Richardson; maternal grandmother, Vivian Watson of Lynden, Wash.; and sister-in-law, Tammy Allison of Abbeville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Allen Allison.

The family suggests those desiring to send memorials may send them to the Irwin County Relay for Life, c/o Mona Paulk, 207 W. 2nd St., Ocilla, GA 31774 or to Hospice of Tift Area, P.O. Box 747, Tifton, GA 31793.
