Janice S. Hancock

MOULTRIE — Janice Smith Hancock, 60, of Moultrie died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Hartsfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie.

Pallbearers will be David Newsome, Brian Cox, Michael Blackstock, Dusty Campbell, Matt Barlow and Calvin Cole III. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Hancock was born Oct. 6, 1949 in Colquitt County to the late John Moses Smith and Sarah Ethel Simpson Smith. She was a former Wal-Mart sales associate and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Hancock is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Terri Hancock of Tifton; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Wayne Smith of Adel; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Roy Cox of Tifton; grandchildren, Leslie Hancock, Michael Hancock, Justin Smith and Billy Wayne Smith; niece, Amanda Cox Barlow; nephew, Brian Cox; and great-nephews, Chad Barlow and Ethan Barlow.

The family may be contacted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Hancock, 620 Hulus Key Court, Tifton. Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
