Linda Ann Thomoson

TIFTON — Linda Ann Thomoson, 68, of Tifton died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Oakridge Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Thompson will officiate with burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Jim Melvin, Pat Stone, Seth Thomoson, Jeremy Thomoson, Sonny Smith and Howard Jordan will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Thomoson was born on Sept. 28, 1941 in Americus and was the daughter of Elbert Cato and Thet Smith Cato, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Sue Jordan. She graduated from Americus High School, where she was a majorette and participated in swimming and tennis. She was retired from the Tift County School System as a paraprofessional and a member of Brighton Road Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Red Hatters Society, Bridge Clubs and a Relay for Life participant. She had lived in Tifton for 50 years. She enjoyed activities and fellowship with her friends and family. She always thought of others before herself. She loved God and she will be remembered most for the laughter, kindness and love she shared with everyone.

Mrs. Thomoson is survived by her husband, Charles H. "Doodle" Thomoson Sr. of Tifton; two sons, Charles H. "Pepper" Thomoson Jr. of Tifton and Todd O. Thomoson of Boca Raton, Fla.; one daughter, Kelly A. Stone of Tifton; one sister, Kay Melvin of Dawson; and five grandchildren, Brittany Thomoson, Seth Thomoson, Jeremy Thomoson, JoAnna Thomoson and Jason Thomoson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Brighton Road Baptist Church Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society.
