Roy C. Engram Jr., 59, of Tifton died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Beulah Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight in the chapel of Taylor Family Funeral Service.
Roy was born April 27, 1951 in Tift County to the late Roy C. Engram Sr. and Louise Engram. He served in the United States Army after graduating from Homerville High School with honors. He also graduated from the Licensed Practical Nursing School in Tift County. He retired from the Regional Waste Treatment Plant in Tifton. He was a member of Beulah Hill Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon since 1994. He was a member of Magnolia Lodge #87, White Star Chapter #11, New Hope #50, Knights Templar (Albany), Robert J. Walters Consistory and Ossipe #65. He served on the United Way board and was a member of American Legion #559.
Survivors include his wife, Delbra Engram of Tifton; daughters, Michelle and Larry McKnight of Miami, Fla., and Karen Engram of Atlanta; two sons, Roy Engram III of Las Vegas, Nev., and Brian Scott of Tifton; five brothers, Calvin Engram, Freddie Engram, Lamar Engram, Leon Engram and Wayne Engram; and three sisters, Minister Delois Bennett, Rose Barron and Jeanette Johnson.
Taylor Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
