Daniel Winston “Dan” Ball, 91, of Brookfield, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with his grandson, Ashley Ball, officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery. Grandsons and great-grandsons of Mr. Ball will serve as pallbearers.
Born Sept. 8, 1921, in Garfield, Ark., to the late Rev. James Lee Ball Sr., and Ethel Drummond Ball, Mr. Ball was also preceded in death by seventeen brothers and sisters.
Mr. Ball was a lifetime resident of Tift County where he retired from Bishop Well and Pump Service. He was of the Church of God faith. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, riding his 4-wheeler, being outdoors, and visiting and talking with people.
Mr. Ball is survived by his wife, to whom he was married 60 years, Pat Hatfield Ball of Brookfield; his children, Teresa and Wayne Phagan of Brookfield, Rocky and Shannon Ball of Tifton, Ronny Ball of Valdosta, and Troy “B.B.” and Staci Ball of Eldorado; one brother, E. V. Ball of Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Amanda Lamb, Toni Michele Martin, Shannon Sparkman, Chris Ball, Jennifer Zorotovich, Ashley Ball, Derek Ball, Jake Ball, Austin Ball, and Benjamin Ball; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
