Idis Tucker

TIFTON — Idis Lee Tucker, 74, of Tifton, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Danny Stillwell officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Wednesday at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Born Nov. 7, 1938, in Ashburn to the late Martin Lee Tucker and Rosa Viola Barwick Tucker, Mr. Tucker was also preceded in death by the mothers of his children, Neta Ireland and Leah Rouse, one daughter, Brenda Brown, and two sisters.

Mr. Tucker was a retired truck driver who enjoyed watching Western movies, especially John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies, listening to classic country music and collecting model cars.  Mr. Tucker was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Tucker is survived by his children, Angela and Gary Streepy of Martinsburg, W. Va., Melissa Soles of Tifton, Ricky and Michele Tucker of Enigma, Shawn Tucker of Tifton and Robin Peacock of Adel; one brother and one sister-in-law, William T. and Doris Tucker of Ashburn; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
