Bill Newbold

TIFTON — William S. “Bill” Newbold, 90, of Hazlehurst, formerly of Tifton, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazlehurst. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Ronnie Vice officiating. Burial will follow at St. Illa Baptist Church Cemetery in Coffee County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Newbold was born in Allen County, Ky., Oct. 6, 1919 to Oliver and Maggie Butern Newbold, both deceased. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Soles Newbold; his son, John R. King; and by two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Pauline Yarberry King of Douglas; his sister, Merle Parrish of Kentucky; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
