TIFTON — Joyce Walker Martin, 75, of Tifton, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Gary Cadwell will officiate, with burial to follow at Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Larry Johnson, Forrest Paulk, Donnie Crumley, Mike Walker, Carson Burgess and Lance Johnson will serve as pallbearers. Terry Walker, Robbie Willis and J.D. Newsome will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Ms. Martin was born on July 23, 1934 in Tift County and was the daughter of Artful Walker and Annie Mae Twilley Walker, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian Blair, and three brothers, Huwel Walker, Pride Walker and Herb Walker. She was retired from Piggly Wiggly as a cashier, and office employee. She was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church.
Ms. Martin is survived by six sons and four daughters-in-law, Raymond and Tamara Martin of Cochran, Timothy Martin of Hahira, Michael and DiAnne Martin of Moss Point, Miss., Kenneth Martin of Moultrie, Chris and Kim Martin of Tifton and Dennis and Pearl Barker of Nashville; two daughters, Vivian Blair of Omega and Joy Gibson of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Judy Walker of White Springs, Fla.; two sisters, Alma Willis of Charleston, S.C., and Odene Hand of Bainbridge; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
